A wealthy businessman was worriedabout his son’s bad habits. So he sought counsel from a wise, old man. The wise man took the man’s son out for a stroll. They walked into the woods, and the wise man showed the boy a small sapling and asked him to pull it out. He did so with ease, and they walked on. The wise man then asked the boy to pull out the bush and he did that too, with a little effort. The next was a small tree, which he had to struggle a lot to pull out. Finally, the wise man showed him a bigger tree and asked him to pull it out, but he failed even after trying several times in different ways.
The wise man looked at him, smiled and said, “So is the case with habits, good or bad.”
